Ethics is both a science and an art. As a science, it is the right way of knowing and understanding ethical and moral principles. As an art, it is the right way to do things, and how to be persons of moral character, who form a community of character. Bon Secours strives to excel in both the science and the art of ethics so that our actions flow from who we say we are and from our deepest values.
As an organization, Bon Secours makes thousands of ethical decisions each day, decisions about the treatment of patients, residents, vendors and community members and how we treat each other. In making these decisions, we draw on a strong Judeo-Christian moral tradition while also being respectful of other religious tradition. Bon Secours is guided by the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services as well as the rich moral tradition of the Catholic Church, and the tradition and example of the Sisters of Bon Secours.
